Portland Travel Guide

This weekend we had the chance to venture to Portland, ME for the night and even though it was a quick trip, we managed to make the best of it. I hit up all the local hot spots starting with Eventide Oyster Co. which never disappoints (this baby has been craving one of their delicious, melt in your mouth lobster rolls). Even though I couldn't indulge in the oysters this time around, there were plenty of delicious options (note: Eventide is coming to Boston)

In addition to Eventide, I had to make a trip to Holy Donut and Standard Baking Co. for some sweet treats to bring home. However, the highlight of our weekend was our brunch at Central Provisions. I can't even begin to describing how amazing our meal was and I can't wait to head back North post baby to indulge in all the goodness that I had to avoid this time around.

Even though it seems like I spent most of this trip eating, which is partly true, I did manage to get in some shopping which included trips to Blanch & Mim, Littles, LeRoux Kitchen and Bliss

And, we made sure to hit up a local brewery, Foundation Brewing Company, so that my husband could indulge in some hard to find and purchase IPA's. For me the Ginger Lemon soda was my beverage choice and the people watching kept me occupied - people take their beer very seriously and I was amazed at the lines so early in the day. In the past we've gone to Maine Brewing Company, but my husband wanted to mix it up a bit.

We stayed at the Westin, but next time I really want to check out The Press Hotel

If your looking for a quick weekend getaway North of Boston, I highly recommend a trip to Portland.
