Post-Baby Goals
I'm officially half way through my maternity leave and figured it was time to start working on shedding these extra pounds that I'm still carrying. I didn't expect to drop the extra weight immediately, and I've been very patient in order to let my body heal, but I'm so ready to get back in shape.
Now more than ever I'm craving a good sweat session - probably because this will be dedicated me time, which doenst happen these days. Up until now I've been walking a few times a week, but aside from that, I've been too busy, not to mention tired, to fit in anything else. My six week follow-up was this morning and I'm officially cleared to start higher intensity workouts. Of course, it will be slow ramp, but I'm looking forward to getting back into good running shape {targeting August for my first race}. It's going to be so hard with two little ones, but I'm determined to put in the effort with a combination of at home workouts and occassional classes at my favorite local fitness studio Orange Theory Fitness.
To help motivate me, I've purchased a few new things{these pants with fun cut outs and new sneakers}and I've shared some of my favorite workout and athletic wear below. In addition, I recently purchased a pair of workout pants from Crane & Lion and I LOVE them. The line is a little pricey, but I scored mine on major sale and I'm thinking about purchasing these joggers and workout pants since they are similar to the ones I have, which I find to be super flattering.
I also love the Zella line at Nordstrom. The pants come in great colors and patterns and I really like the style of their tops. Especially this style as well as this one.
Lastly, I love the New Balance line at J Crew and think these pieces {here, here and here} would be great to add to my closet.
So, for all you busy moms, and those of you who find it hard to find time to workout, what motiviates you to stick to a schedule and how do you make workouts part of your daily routine? Wish me luck as I work on these initial 10 lbs that I'm looking to take off by mid-summer.
