Life These Days
Hey there! I know, I've been a bit MIA {my last life update was in June...eeek} and without getting too specific, work has been a bit insane lately. Work coupled with the fact that I now have two very active little people {no more newborn, rather an active infant} that consume my weekend in the best way possible. Even though my two littles are my priority, lately I've spent a ton of time thinking about my career, professional goals and where I see myself in the coming years. I've talked to friends, colleagues and family and it turns out I'm not alone. It's been comforting and interesting to talk to people about what they want out of their careers, life, passions and dreams. I'm so excited to share that I've enlisted the help of a career coach. I have my first session and consult next week and I'm super excited. I have no idea what to expect, but I'm happy to final initiate the process by taking steps to invest in my career development.
I'm starting to get super excited about the holidays. I know the thought of Christmas shopping may seem prematrue and a little early, but I think now that I'm a mom the holidays feel different. Knowing that I'll be spending some extra time at home with my boys is something I'm very much looking forward to. I hardly use my vacation time, but this year I'm making it a priority to wind down and really enjoy the final weeks of 2017 before we welcome in a new year.
We are FINALLY in the home stretch of a house project with our basement renovation and I'm so excited to start putting the final touches on the space. I'm putting together a post where I'll share before and after pictures, but right now I'm working on picking out playful and modern prints, functional yet stylish toy storage and accessories.
Health wise I've been in a rut. I'm still carrying some extra baby weight and I refuse to kick-off the New Year with a resolution to get in shape and lose weight. I also miss running. In 2015 I finally started to get to a place where I was feeling good, my running times were getting faster, I was running a sub 21 minute 5K and then I got pregnant. I've had a really hard time getting back to that, or even remotely close. I know it's an excuse and that I need to prioritize a bit, but it is so hard to find time to workout during the week. However, I'm committed to making the time. How do you prioritize working out and carve out time for a run, gym session or class?
Call me crazy, but I'm also starting to work on my 2018 goals (not resolutions, but GOALS). I'm super excited to welcome a new year and even more excited to make a list of things I hope to accomplish both personally and professionally.
Lastly, I've paused a bit on blogging and I'm hoping to pick it back up during the holidays because I know there will be so much to share. Thank you for reading and please do email if you have a specific blog topic you want me to feature.
I hope you have a great weekend!
